Football season is officially here!
If you can’t make it to a game, the best way to watch the game is an at home tail gate party. All you need is some good food, some great friends, and of course some good ol’ football. If you know me, you know I never miss an opportunity to host, you can call me the Monica Geller (F.R.I.E.N.D.S) of hostesses. I want everything to be perfect. I think hosting is so much fun and I can’t wait until Mitch and I have a big house to be able to have all our friends and family over for holidays, birthday parties, and of course…pizza Friday!
This weekend we invited over some of our best friends to watch some college football. Here’s a peek at what we had:
First things first: Appetizers
Since this wasn’t the Super Bowl or any big football game, I decided to keep it simple with the appetizers. We had mixed nuts, dark chocolate coconut balls, a fruit & veggie tray, spinach dip, and of course hot wings. Another thing I always like to have while hosting is fresh flowers displayed and my favorite candle burning.
Drinks: Peach Moons
This drink has been one of our favorite drinks for years. It’s a combination of a beer and a cocktail and its perfect for any football party because its super easy to make and its a fun twist on just a plain beer. Here is the recipe:
*Blue Moon Beer
* Peach Schnapps
*Orange Juice (low or no pulp)
Pour your beer into the glass, add 1 shot of peach schnapps, add 2 shots of orange juice, & garnish with an orange slice – Enjoy!
Since people will be watching the game on the couch and not sitting at a dining table, I wanted to make sure we didn’t need to use a fork and knife with our meal so bacon cheeseburgers were perfect. I also made a macaroni salad and we BBQ’d some corn on the cob.
Chocolate cupcakes with some fun football toppers!
We had so much fun with our friends & we can’t wait until our next get together! I hope everyone is having a great weekend!
